The registration for the DCMM is now open to individual participants as well as for teams. To register yourself and your creation, click here. The registration period ends on August 4th, 2010, 23:59h. This year, the event will be accommodating the increasing interest by Non-German modders - similar to the DTM (the German touring car championships), the DCMM now also comes with an additional adjective attached: “International”. Each and every creative hobbyist who has remodeled a PC, a DVD-player, a console, an MP3-player, or any other consumer electronics device on his own is welcome to sign up.
For the 24-Livemodding-Contest, 6 slots will be available. In case you are interested, please go here for further information. To register, simply click the menu-item “Register”.
More detailed information regarding the schedule will be sent out along with the confirmation eMail. Preliminary questions will be answered on our website, or at our forums. For direct questions, feel free to use the phone number supplied on our homepage.
During the five days of the venue, the different categories will arrange for a spectacular and action-packed schedule at the DCMM. From Wednesday to Friday, the 24h-Livemodding-Contest will challenge teams to modify computer cases, live and in front of the audience. Up to six teams (consisting of two members each) are going to compete, Angle grinders and Dremels being their weapons of choice. Teams have three days with 8 hours each to turn a boring commercial case into a one-of-a-kind creation beyond any belief.
On Saturday and Sunday, case-modders will present their newest creations. An experienced jury will evaluate the exhibits in the categories Casemods (Case Modification), Casecons (Case Construction), CE-Mods (Consumer Electronics), but also the new one-of-a-kind creations crafted during the 24h-Livemodding-Contest. A vote among the audience of gamescom will then determine the most spectacular creation. The winner’s ceremony will be held Sunday afternoon (August 22nd, 2010).
Thank you Jan Kratel for the news.
