Here's how you can wire your cold cathode lights CCFL to a LED rocker switch, by default your cold cathode lights comes with a PCI bracket push switch. It comes in handy, if you're having the switch at the back of the case but why waste precious PCI slots when you can have GPU's in SLI or CrossfireX. I know there's quite a few guide on how to wire your CCFL to a LED rocker switch, but this is how i do it. I will be implementing this on my HAF 932 project.

To make things easy, i've made the wires short - easier to snap photos. You don't really need to use the connectors that i use, you can solder them direct to the rocker swith legs but beware that it's going to be tough to remove or replace the switch. So here goes, for any questions email me or  leave comments below;

Tools you need to wire LED Rocker Switch to CCFL

Here's how you do it

Step 1 : Strip the the black wires that connects to your inverter box and one black wire from the molex.
Step 2 : Connect them together. I suggest to solder them, it holds better.
Step 3 : Slide in a heatshrink tube.
Step 4:  Heat it!!!!, i am using my wife's hair dryer, you can use a heat gun or a lighter or even a candle. Just don't use Oven or Microwave!!!! Tongue out

Step 5 : Strip the red wire, yellow wire and the other black wire from your Molex
Step 6 : Connect the connecter and crimp them.

Step 7 : Connect those crimped wires to the LED rocker switch legs. Follow the sequence in the image. There are 3 legs, the gold coloured leg is the ground, connect the black wire from the Molex. Follow the sample and connect the red and yellow wires.

Step 8 : Connect the red and black wires to your CCFL inverter box
Step 9 : Connect your cold cathode lights to the inverter box, if you're using only one light - just connect one.

Step 10 : Now connect the molex to your PSU and you're done!!!. There you go, 10 easy steps. Here's how mine looked both in the day and night.

Test with Lamptron Inverter Box

I did a test with a Lamptron 4 to 1 Inverter Box, didn't like the result. One light appears to be dimmer than the other. The default inverter box works like a charm. Maybe my Lamptron box is damaged but if you have one and it works great, do let me know. Time for RMA!!!!.
